I am daily driving GNOME with arch linux, though GNOME lacks features, and may be unstable on major release, it eventually becomes far more stable than KDE after some polishing after some days and it already masters the few features it has (like touchpad gestures and dark, light theme transition) and accent colors are on their way too. In GNOME, its not the case and everything is almost consistent. In KDE, you have to use a qt theme with a matching GTK theme. GNOME and KDE are two of the most widely used desktop environments because most Linux distributions ship with the same. After updating to GNOME 42, I realized that the on screen widgets, like vol indicator don't work as intended. Manjaro Manjaro today stands out as one of the main Arch-based distributions essentially because it has an active development team with a large user base and community with the added advantage of being one of the very first distros to go with an Arch which of course means it has been around longer than the rest. GNOME extensions break with every major gnome release. However to be fair, GNOME isn't with its headaches either. ![]() Tried to daily drive KDE, personal experience says that you would get something broken every other day. KDE is easy to use and customize only if you did not customize it, but I really like how everything just works on gnome and gnome feels more integrated than KDE. Garuda Linux is an appealing Arch Linux based Distro with BTRFS (modern filesystem), Linux-zen kernel, auto snapshots, gaming edition and a lot more. Chakra is a community-developed OS that follows a half-rolling release model. It relies heavily on KDE and Qt software, with an intent to encourage users to adopt KDE/Qt for some of the other widget toolkits. You are no different than what I was 2 months ago. Chakra is another user-friendly distribution, based on Arch Linux.
